At 22,841 feet above sea level, Aconcagua is truly the roof of the Americas. Located near Mendoza, Argentina, Aconcagua is the highest peak in both the Western and Southern Hemispheres, the highest peak outside the famed Himalayas, and it is a formidable member of the Seven Summits group.
The Aconcagua photos presented here, shot by Marc Pagani, represent a summit attempt expedition from December 9-20, 2001
